Hindrance 6: Unforgiveness
Mark 11:25-26 "And when you stand praying, if you hold
anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in
heaven may forgive you your sins." NIV
Jesus is clear about this, if we cannot forgive the sins of
others, God cannot forgive us. If we cannot forgive those
who hurt us, God cannot forgive us.
Job 42:10 "After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD
made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he
had before." NIV
Job underwent terrible trials. Some pretending friends came
to give him advice, but in reality they were blaming his
sins for all his calamities. Only after Job forgave them and
started to pray for them, was He finally restored to full
health. Here is a clear connection between forgiveness and
healing.
Have you forgiven those who hurt you? Follow Jesus' example.
You cannot go wrong when you do.
Luke 23:34 "Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do
not know what they are doing." And they divided up his
clothes by casting lots." NIV
