There is a scripture in the bible that says "if you are a Christian, the devil will come and tempt you daily." I can't find it. Can anyone?
The devil is a mighty being that opposes God and tempts God's people. We have
found that even though he was beaten at the cross by Christ, he still has the
power to influence men for evil. The Bible calls him "the wicked one," "the
devil," "a murderer," "a liar, and the father of lies," "an adversary" who seeks
to devour, "that old serpent and "accuser of our brethren". Here are some Bible
texts referring to the general idea of being tempted:
Matthew 13:19: "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not
understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his
heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside..."
Luke 4:13: "Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him
until an opportune time."
Luke 4:33: "Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean
demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, 'Let us alone! What have we
to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You
are- the Holy One of God!'"
John 8:44: "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you
want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the
truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from
his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it."
1 Peter 5:8: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks
about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour".
Revelation 12:9-10: "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old,
called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the
earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying
in heaven, 'Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the
power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them
before our God day and night, has been cast down.'"
The moment you made your decision for Christ, Satan suffered a tremendous
defeat. He is angry now. From now on he is going to tempt you and try to lead
you into sin. Don't be alarmed. He cannot rob you of your salvation, and he need
not rob you of your assurance and victory. He will do everything in his power to
sow seeds of doubt in your mind as to whether your conversion is a reality or
not. You cannot argue with him for he is the devil and he will try to discourage
you, to divert you; he will seek to dilute your testimony; he will attempt
anything to destroy your relationship to Christ and your influence upon others.
You ask "How can I overcome him? What can I do? Which way can I turn? Is there
any escape?"
"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful;
he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are
tempted, he will also provide a way of escape so that you may be able to endure
it" [1 Corinthians 10:13]
God says in this verse that He has made a way of escape. Now remember this:
temptation from the devil is not a sign that your life is not right with God. It
is actually a sign that you are right with God. Temptation is not a sin. Also
remember that God never tempts His own children. He never causes His children to
doubt. All doubts and temptations come from the devil or from our own evil
desires. Remember also that Satan can only tempt. He can never compel you to
yield to the temptation. Remember also that Satan has already been conquered by
Christ. His power is made useless in the life of a fully trusting and yielded
Christian who is completely dependent upon God.
The Bible also says that we are to "resist the devil and he will flee" from us
(James 4:7). It also admonishes us "to submit ourselves to God". You must fully
submit one hundred percent, yielding and surrendering yourself to Christ, then
you can "resist the devil," and the Bible promises he will flee from you. The
devil will tremble when you pray. He will be defeated when you quote or read a
passage of Scripture to him, and will leave you when you resist him.
I also want to pop a secret into your ear. Satan will strike the hardest when
you have found a victory in the Lord! The devil is sly. He knows where we are
especially vulnerable to his attacks especially after we have "come down" from a
great spiritual high. Take Jesus, for example. He came to be baptized by the
most famous evangelist of the day, John the Baptist. John recognized him as the
Messiah. As he was being baptized, Jesus actually heard God's voice from heaven,
and the Spirit descended on Him. Quite a spiritual high!
What happened next? He went directly into the wilderness and was tempted for 40
days by the devil (Matthew 3:4). The devil does not tempt at random. He tempts
as part of a comprehensive strategy to entice us to sin. He knows our emotions
are especially vulnerable following a spiritual high time. Perhaps we have let
down our guard.
I have been attacked many times after attending retreats, camps, conventions,
revival meetings, and even special prayer services. That old toothless lion
drags out his biggest cannons of temptation. I should know by now that I must be
prepared for the battle when I am on the mountaintop, but the moment I get into
the car to head home, I am bombarded by tons of lunatic drivers, and a myriad of
negative thoughts and emotions invade my skull!
Satan isn't stupid. Tempting is his main tool for keeping us from fully knowing
our Father. He and his invisible demons recognize our strong and weak points. It
would be foolish for him to continually attack you at an area where you are
strong! He is also aware that the more you resist his nasty wiles, the stronger
you will become as a Christian, so he will repeatedly hit your vulnerable areas
to keep you in bondage to your fleshly desires.
I know that you have heard many times the way to resist Satan and his cohorts is
by praying in the Spirit, reading the Word, and putting on the full armor of God
every day. I think that one of my most favorite Bible verse that I have
underlined, arrowed, marked the page with tabs and even wrote it in the front of
my Bible is 2 Corinthians 10:4-5: "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons
of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the
knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to
Christ."
Victory is ours if we depend solely on Jesus!

I could not find a scripture that said exactly that, but on the contrary I
did find some evidence that the devil may give you a season of relief. Also all
temptation is not from Satan. Let me give you two scriptures that seem to point
to these two thoughts.
This is when Christ Jesus was taken into the wilderness and tempted by the
devil. Luke 4:13 "And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed
from him for a season." The word translated to season in the King James Bible is
a word that means "a while." So if Satan left Christ for a while is it not easy
to conclude that he leaves us occasionally?
Satan is our accuser. Job 1:8-12 gives us the account of Satan as he came before
God and accused God of protecting Job and this seems to indicate that he is an
accuser of men.
Revelation 12:10 "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come
salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his
Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before
our God day and night."
This verse very plainly teaches that Satan is after our souls and I believe our
influence also.
1Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
This verse would uphold the thought that we are not only tempted by Satan, but
also his demons. Note the word "principalities", the Greek word carries a
mention of rank, thus there are devils, demons if you please below Satan
himself. Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Still there are other verses that pointedly tell us that we are tempted and
drawn away by the lust of our flesh. James 1:13-14 "Let no man say when he is
tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither
tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own
lust, and enticed."
We are definitely being tempted and often, but every day by Satan only?
I must believe that we are battling with not only Satan and his demons, but we
are fighting the flesh also.
Where did the demons come from? Revelation 12:3,4,9 "And there appeared another
wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten
horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the
stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the
woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was
born... And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil,
and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and
his angels were cast out with him."
My conclusion, we are being tempted by Satan, his demons and by our flesh. Does
a day go by that we are not tempted? Probably not, but it is feasible to believe
that God's children do go many days not sinning and those that draw near to Him
will have the victory much more than those who do not discipline themselves to
daily seek God's face and His Word.
If there is a verse that teaches what this month's question asks, and I am not
saying there is not, but that I am not aware of it. But I have been wrong before
and without a doubt will be again. God Bless each of you.

I don't believe there to be a verse that reads specifically like that. I
think it is a saying we have developed based on some of the scriptures that do
refer to temptation.
Based on my concordance there are only 3 verses with the word Christian(s) in
them and none dealt with temptation. There are some scriptures that talk of
Satan tempting us. Matthew 4:1 then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert
to be tempted by the devil. If Jesus could be tempted by Satan, how much more
will we be tempted by being His followers? Daily, I'm sure, if not more than
once a day. Hebrews 3:15...but we have one who has been tempted in every way,
just as we are-yet was without sin.
There are also verses that tell us we are tempted by things other than Satan.
James 1:14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged
away and enticed. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what
is common to man...
This tells us that Satan is our tempter but our own desires are our own
unraveling, too.
I do believe that as Christians we are tempted daily, whether by Satan or the
world or our fleshly desires. Great reason to pray without ceasing!

The reason you and I could not find it because there is no such phrase in the Scripture. Someone just add it onto his or her bible. In other words, they just make it up and put in their bible.

Dear Beloved of the Lord Jesus.
I know of no place in The Bible where this is phrased or quoted.
However, one could get this understanding after reading Matt. Chapter 6. Where
our Lord Jesus instructs us as to our proper attitudes and priorities as they
apply to our prayer, giving and the storing of goods in this world. Because of
the word "daily" used in this biblical passage , many Christians look at this as
a " Daily Prayer" however this is not the intent that our Lord Jesus had in
mind, He was making the point that as we need daily food, so we also need the
proper understanding and application of prayer, giving and storing goods..
Furthermore temptations do sometimes comes from the devil, but more often that
not most temptations come from our own carnal thinking and selfish desires...
and in this regard can happen "daily", but not necessarily from the devil, he is
not all knowing, or powerful, he is an evil being. He is a defeated foe of God,
and will soon face eternal punishment from His creator God. Let's not give him
credit for anything other than stealing, killing and destroying the human will
to love God...
