What is the biblical position of a wife
who has been divorced by her husband for no specific reason?

Christian marriage does not condone just anything as
ungodly marriages do. The following are some of the things
forbidden in Christian marriage:
(a) Unfaithfulness to the spouse/adultery – Malachi 2:14-5,
Hebrew 13:4; Prov. 5:15-23.
(b) Polygamy – Gen. 2:18-27, Deut 17:17, Matthew 19:4-6, I
Cor 7:2.
(c) Mixed marriage – Josh. 23:11-13, 2 Cor. 6:14ff;
(d) Divorce – Matt. 5:31-32, Rom. 7:2-3, 1 Cor. 7:10,11,39.
The biblical position of a wife that has been divorced for
not just cause is that she should continue to pray until the
Lord would touch the heart of the husband. The reasons are
based on the following scriptures:
Matthew 5:31-32 “It has been said, “Anyone who divorces his
wife must give her a certificate of divorce.” But I tell you
that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital
unfaithfulness, cause her to become an adulteress, and
anyone who married the divorced woman commits adultery.
It is simply put in the scripture that the divorced woman
should not be married. Anyone who does so commits adultery.
I understand the position of the bible vis-à-vis the one who
has been put away for no just cause. The scripture has to be
obeyed to the letter without any reason put forth to disobey
it.
Romans 7:2-3 “For example, by law a married woman is bound
to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband
dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if
she marries another man while her husband is still alive,
she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is
released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though
she marries another man.
The verses of the scripture is still buttressing that which
Jesus declared in Matthew 5:31-32.
It is important that Christian marriage be held up in
fervent prayers. The devil is all out to cause divorce. Yea!
Divorce is on the increase in the Western world. It is the
power of God that can sustain homes. The devil knows that
the hope of the Lord is the home. That is why he is making
every effort to destabilize Christian homes with trivial
matters. It is important that couples should take their God
seriously and make up their minds to forgive one another if
only they want to affect their generation.
The agony Christians who have divorced themselves are
causing themselves cannot be quantified. One of such agonies
is the fact that the bible does not support divorce no
matter the reason for such putting away by either party. The
other is that they leave children to fetch for themselves.
God is not happy about this.
I Cor. 7:10,11,19
“To the married, I give this command (not I, but the Lord);
a wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does,
she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her
husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcission is nothing.
Keeping God’s command is what counts”.
You see, there are so many ways by which humans may want to
justify themselves. The bible does not leave any stone
unturned. It is important if we want to inherit the Kingdom,
to obey the bible implicitly.
I want to believe that the devil is the author of divorce.
If every home in a nation would please God in their
endeavor, the whole world would be at peace. All the things
that may want to cause divorce should, therefore, be avoid.
You cannot do it in your flesh. Jesus must be invited into
your home. You must become born again – John 3:7. You must
acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and personal savior.
Romans 7:2-3 “For example, by law a married woman is bound
to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband
dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if
she marries another man while her husband is still alive,
she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is
release even though she marries another man."
There are so many teachings about marriage and divorce
today. People have compiled ideas and opinions of men
together. However, as pilgrims to Heaven we must know what
the bible says about our actions. Going contrary to what the
scripture has laid down is tantamount to disobedience and
disobedience shall be visited with the wrath of God.
MY COUNSEL
There is nothing prayer cannot change. There was a lady who
used to be a member of our church. Her husband put her away
for 8 years. Apparently, the husband had been married to
another woman with 2 children. When this lady joined our
church and we got to know her marital status, the church was
interested. I took special interest in the fact that she
must be united again with her husband. We started
encouraging and, praying with this lady. Suddenly I saw the
lady brought the man to my home one evening. Who was this, I
asked. She said, “my better half who had left me for the
past 8 years”. I was humbled to know again that God answers
prayers.
The man said that during the period of disassociating, there
was no peace. He came in order to establish peace. When I
asked him about the lady he had married, he told me that the
lady had left on her own accord because she realized that
she was not the rightful wife.
I know another lady, a member of our church. She realized
when she became converted that she was an intruder in one
home. This is because she was a second wife to the man. The
scripture did not say, “A man will leave his mother and his
father and cleave on his wives” But the scripture did say,
“cleaving to his wife”. She restituted and packed her load
from the house of the man. Up till now, she is still
trusting God for the man the Lord may give.
God still answer prayers. We only need to be patient and
know the God will serve. They that know their God shall be
strong and do exploit.
Jesus is Lord!

I think there has to be a very good reason for a divorce.
I don't believe that couples should divorce for any little
thing. When you get married there is something there that
brought the two of you together so if you try and work out
things you get that that something back into your lives. If
you cant try and work out things with the first one what
makes a person think they wont have problems with the next
one and they could be worse and some cases probably better.
But for me i will work out my problems since they are small
and not let them get out of hand. I could not think of
separating from my husband to start a life all over and with
new problems. We are just getting ours worked out why would
i want to start all over with new ones. And maybe that i
cant handle. Also I love my husband. Love.

"Have ye not read," He replied, "that He which made them
at the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'For
this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall
cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh?'
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder"
(Matthew 19:4-6).
"And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord,
Let not the wife depart from her husband; and let not the
husband put away his wife." (I Corinthians 7:10-11).
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to
her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be
dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if,
while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she
shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead,
she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress,
though she be married to another man. (Romans 7: 2-3)
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let
not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart,
let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband:
and let not the husband put away his wife. (Corinthians
7:10)
If a woman divorces her husband for any other reason than
death, she must remain unmarried or she will be committing
adultery. Because in the eyes of the Lord, she will continue
to remain wed to her husband.

No. She cannot marry again. Only if it were adultery.

I have read many times that God "hates" divorce". So I
guess Ill leave it at that.

God hate divorce whether it is from the man of the woman,
he hated divorce. All know too that Jesus in Matthew 19:7
states that during that time "Moses suffered," or permitted,
men to put away their wives, "because of the hardness of
your hearts." God is not pleased with divorcing and
remarrying. Why does God hate divorce? Because of what
divorce is! Divorce is despicable, perfidious treachery. The
LORD hates divorce because divorce is hateful. As even a
sinful world holds the traitor in contempt, God hates
divorce.

There is no biblical position for a wife that has been
divorced from her husband for no specific reason. In the Old
Testament the only cause for divorce was adultery, other
than that you could not be divorced. In the New Testament it
is the same thing, so if you are trying to use the bible to
clarify your circumstances you should be more specific, as
you are divorced and if you remarry then you are committing
adultery.
