I recently had a dear friend die, and some people said that she was "called home" others said she was killed by the devil....because he comes to steal, kill and destroy. I have a hard time with this, because it seems too harsh to think that our father calls some people home and others get killed by the devil. Can you tell me who is right?

The first thing is to realize that Gods' Word is correct and all else is the voice of ignorance, so I will try to show you what the scripture says about your question. Please know that the only true answer will come from the Bible and all the philosophy of man is nothing but mere rhetoric of man.

1. Everyone that is alive today will die some day. Many do not care to dwell on this point but nevertheless we will all die, do you agree with that?

Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."

2. Does God take some and the devil take others?

No, the devil can do no more than God allows him to do.

Does the Devil have power over Gods children?

Again the answer is no.

Read the first chapter of the book of Job and that passage will make my point.

3. If a person is taken by Satan then it is after God allows him to have that person.

Read First Corinthians 5:1-6 to answer this point

4. If your friend was a saved child of God then the Lord has taken her to His self and she is with Him. However if she died an unsaved person, then her doom is sealed.

John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. {again: or, from above}"

John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Read Luke 16:19-31
